Our truly efficient catamarans are designed and engineered to sail in very light winds, outrun bad weather and cruise the world in cool simplicity.
A CM’s easily driven nature allows excellent cruising speeds from modest sized rigs – giving an unloaded, safe and easily handled feel on passage. They have light, centralised weight, fine bows and high bridge deck clearance to provide favourable behaviour should large seas be encountered.
CM catamarans don’t set out to provide walk-round beds or the ultimate floor area, but their performance is matched by the space, visibility and payload needed for live-aboard cruising in true comfort – underway as well as at anchor.
Their combination of pace and volume can only be achieved through high tech construction that keeps the weight low. We use materials and build systems generally found only in a few larger, high-end boats – and bring them to smaller catamarans.
Based in Knysna, on South Africa’s Garden Route, we’re a growing shipyard in the world’s second-largest multihull yacht building nation.
You won’t find flash offices or a big marketing budget at Current Marine but we hope you’ll recognise our expertise and desire to work with you to create the boat you really want.
